Sustainable Luxury

A PUSH FORWARD…

In 2022, we’ve made a commitment to increase our sustainability efforts and set an example in the industry. Action items for this initiative include packaging material reduction, unused and damaged metal recycling, and seeking Energy-Star certification on as many products as possible. Additionally, we are committed to making our home of Lake Tahoe a better place - that’s why we have decided to partner with organizations that are making a difference in our community. As firm believers in keeping ourselves accountable, we’re passionate about protecting the inspiration for our products and the beauty of our home - with the ultimate goal of bettering the environment and bringing awareness to those around us.

Sustainability in the appliance industry is a topic rarely discussed or acknowledged. As an industry leader based in Lake Tahoe, it is our obligation to close the gap between luxury and sustainability. If we can make luxury attainable, we can also make it sustainable!

ZLINE SUSTAINABILITY PARTNERS

CLEAN UP THE LAKE:

From their 72 mile clean up effort to finding other areas that need their assistance, Clean Up The Lake’s mission is to “fight back against plastic and all forms of pollution in our global environment, both on land and under the surface, starting with Lake Tahoe and the Cayes in Belize.” With their dedication to preserving Lake Tahoe and its surrounding areas, this partnership aligned perfectly with our commitment to preserve the limitless beauty of our home. In 2022, Clean Up The Lake began their 72 mile clean-up of Lake Tahoe, with several upcoming projects scheduled to continue to keep Tahoe beautiful.

PROTECT OUR WINTERS:

As one of the leaders in climate change prevention, Protect Our Winters was founded in 2007 by Tahoe local and professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones. Bringing the snowsports community together to help combat climate change did not exist prior, thus Protect Our Winters was born. Since then, Protect Our Winters has worked to protect our planet from climate change all around the country. Today, Protect Our Winters has more than 130,000 supporters working towards their goal of reducing climate change. Over the next four years, Protect Our Winters will work to grow, diversify and strengthen the Outdoor State to become the most influential and impactful voice for the climate in the United States.

CLEAN TAHOE:

Dedicated to improving the visual environment of Lake Tahoe, Clean Tahoe organizes litter removal, hauling services, and community clean up throughout each year. This organization was important for ZLINE to contribute to because one of their main initiatives is appliance clean up. This service initiative protects the surrounding environment and animals from the hazards of illegally dumped items.

TAMBA:

The Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association is a leader in maintaining and creating state-of-the-art bike trails in the Lake Tahoe area. TAMBA gathers volunteers for many events throughout the year to advocate for these trails. In addition to maintaining more than 100 miles of trail per year, TAMBA played an instrumental role in cleaning up the bike trails after the Caldor Fire in summer 2021. As many of our team members love to spend their free time mountain biking, we felt compelled to contribute to this cause of protecting this outdoor-sports activity.

TAHOE FUND:

Striving to be a major source of funding for environmental projects in Lake Tahoe, the Tahoe Fund brings care and funding to many needs in the area. They have funded more than 60 projects including our partners, TAMBA, Clean Tahoe, and Clean Up The Lake. ZLINE is proud to support this cause and has a trout donor recognition plaque with our company name on it installed on a bridge near Sand Harbor on the East Shore Trail.
