On the evening of August 14, ZLINE Kitchen and Bath, in partnership with the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce, hosted the official launch and ribbon cutting for the Mark Estee Signature Chef Knife—a sleek and powerful tool designed for chefs, food lovers, and anyone who values precision in the kitchen.

Held at ZLINE’s Nevada showroom at 350 Parr Circle in Reno, the event welcomed members of the local community, Chamber partners, and culinary enthusiasts alike. It was a celebration of more than just a new product; it was a tribute to craftsmanship, culinary passion, and giving back.

The Knife: Designed by a Chef, for the Chef in All of Us

Engineered in collaboration with Chef Mark Estee, the Mark Estee Signature Chef Knife combines functionality, durability, and beautiful design. Crafted for balance and comfort, it’s an extension of the chef’s hand—perfectly weighted and precision-sharpened for everything from slicing herbs to dicing onions to shaving chocolate.

The vision was clear: create a high-quality, versatile kitchen essential that performs at a professional level, yet feels right at home on any cutting board.

“This knife really spoke to me,” says Estee. “When (ZLINE Founder) Andy Zuro asked me to collaborate, I was super fired up. The feel and quality of the Damascus blade, the way it holds that edge, the way it cuts—and to top it off, the way it looks—really sets this knife apart.”

A Flavorful Evening of Food and Demonstration

Guests at the August 14 event were treated to a culinary experience led by none other than Estee himself. The evening kicked off with freshly prepared appetizers that showcased seasonal ingredients and the finesse of a well-designed knife.

As the highlight of the event, Estee led a live cooking demonstration, crafting a vibrant summer gnocchi dish that highlighted not just his culinary skill but also the utility of the knife in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Every slice, cut, and chop was a testament to the knife’s precision and ease of use.

“We believe an event should do more than make a splash—it should make a difference,” remarks ZLINE Public Relations Associate Nina McBeth. “Supporting Eddy House through this launch continues the longstanding relationship that both Mark and ZLINE have proudly nurtured over the years. It’s an organization close to our hearts, and events like this allow us to give back in meaningful ways.”

Giving Back with Purpose

In addition to celebrating a new product with the Reno-Sparks business community, the evening had a deeper purpose: supporting Eddy House, a local nonprofit committed to assisting homeless and at-risk youth in Northern Nevada.

A raffle was held featuring two of Mark Estee’s signature knives, along with other exclusive prizes. Every dollar raised went directly to Eddy House, turning a night of celebration into one of meaningful impact.
