Reno-based ZLINE Kitchen and Bath was honored by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada with a prestigious “Business Retention and Expansion” award, acknowledging our efforts to support workforce development across Greater Reno-Sparks.

EDAWN held its inaugural Celebration of Business & Industry in Northern Nevada event on December 12, celebrating the incredible companies that fuel the organization’s mission and help drive economic vitality throughout Northern and Western Nevada.

Over the past year, ZLINE filled over 55 jobs from local talent pools in Greater Reno-Sparks and within communities serving our other locations in Tennessee and Ohio. In addition to bolstering our locally based Customer Experience and Warehouse/Logistics teams, ZLINE hired multiple manager- and executive-level positions, including Director of Information Technology & Development, Creative Director, and Director of People Operations, among other roles.

“We’re incredibly thrilled to be honored by EDAWN with the 2024 Business Retention and Expansion award,” notes Mason Watkins, Senior Director of Marketing at ZLINE. “We pride ourselves in recruiting local employees, and one of the key components of our mission is to provide a robust training curriculum to ensure staff are keenly aware of our extensive suite of kitchen appliances and plumbing fixtures. This knowledge is crucial to our commitment to offering elite customer service while underscoring our goals to aid economic development by investing in talented individuals who live in communities where we operate.”

ZLINE also prioritizes employee retention by investing in education and training opportunities. Aside from internal efforts, we made significant investments in 2024 to expand digital opportunities by offering employees free access to hundreds of educational courses through online education platform Coursera to foster staff’s desire to learn new skills and provide attainable career pathways to grow within our organization.
Engagement with these courses has been incredibly successful, with over 75 employees earning certificates in programs such as project management, quality assurance, appliance maintenance, marketing analytics, external communications, and business leadership, among others. These critical investments into training and career advancement resources contribute to a fun, culture-building work environment that is key to our retention and expansion strategies.
What’s more, local philanthropy is paramount to ZLINE’s mission, and 2024 marked one of our biggest years to date in terms of volunteerism and employee donations to countless nonprofits, schools, and organizations. A small example of these contributions include:
  • Donating a full kitchen suite to Reno-based Urban Roots, allowing the nonprofit to host free cooking workshops for local youth to further its mission of improving community health and education through garden-based learning.
  • Partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows by donating two full kitchen appliances suites — one for the Reno-based nonprofit’s facility kitchen, and the other as an auction item for the club’s 2024 Cioppino Feed & Auction fundraiser.
  • Further, we maintain annual donations and sponsorships to local organizations such as the Cancer Community Clubhouse, Children’s Cabinet, Renown Children’s Hospital, Nevada Building Alliance, Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, The Eddy House, and Frank N. Bender Center for Applied Logistics Management, among others in Nevada, as well as Ohio and Tennessee.
