ZLINE Kitchen and Bath Partners with Vitalant for Third Reno Blood Drive

This month, ZLINE Kitchen and Bath hosted its third community blood drive in partnership with Vitalant, one of the nation's largest nonprofit blood and biotherapies organizations.

Vitalant serves a critical healthcare role by supplying essential blood components to roughly 900 hospitals across the country. The nonprofit operates a network of about 115 U.S. donation centers—including three in Northern Nevada—and also regularly deploys its mobile Bloodmobile to regional businesses to accommodate donors who may face scheduling or geographical barriers.
The June 12 ZLINE Cares blood drive at the company’s North Reno location at 350 Parr Circle saw 12 donors—including four first-time donors—step into the Bloodmobile to donate 13 units of blood.

“We are so appreciative of the ongoing support and partnership with ZLINE Kitchen and Bath,” shares Vitalant Account Manager Jackie Grams, who noted the 13 units will impact the lives of 39 patients in need. “It does take a community to bring our mission to life.”

After hosting previous blood drives in January 2025 and August 2025, the ZLINE-Vitalant partnership has now mobilized 44 total donors—including 19 first-time contributors—resulting in 55 cumulative units collected for the regional blood supply.

Partnering with life-impacting nonprofits like Vitalant is one small way the company is advancing corporate social responsibility through its ZLINE Cares initiative, says ZLINE Communications Manager Kevin MacMillan.

“I remember the very first time I donated blood during the COVID pandemic. The anticipation of the needle poke was admittedly a bit nerve-wracking, but minutes later, after a successful donation, anxiety shifted to humility, knowing such a small act may have a massive impact on another human life,” recalls MacMillan. “Each year, Vitalant hosts about 60,000 blood drives, so it’s a real privilege for ZLINE to represent even a fraction of their nationwide donor network.”

Created in 2025, ZLINE Cares empowers employees to volunteer during work hours to support local causes with the vision of “creating better communities, one kindness at a time.”
